I have a 02 srx and was wondering if any one here has tried taking the stock covers off there pipes and having high temp coatings put on . Just wondering the benifits of doing so. No rust, maybe make the pipes a little lighter and no more painting. But was wondering if it last very long. Seems to look cool from pics i have seen but have never talked to any who has it done. THANKS NIGHTTRAIN9

i have my pipes ceramic coated flat black, Benefits are, it keeps the pipes insulated, and pipes love being hot, and it doesnt rust... pipes will last alot longer, Once they are "broken in" they will not chip, but when they are virgin they can chip kind of easy, just gotta be carefull with installation... once they are cured from the exhaust heat, they are pretty much solid... I love my pipes.

I alos polished up my heatshields and put them back on for added insulation from powder etc... if you don't put the heat shields back on you may have to put heat tape on the hood wear the pipes come close.
