Need help,2000 sxr 700 idles on two cylinders give just a little choke and the other fires again, cleaned the carb twice good compression !@#!#$@^$& sled runs good at high speed.

you give it a little choke, and the other cylinder starts to fire? i hate to tell you, but pull those carbs back off, cause you got pluggage issues in the pilot circuit. unscrew the fuel screw, take out pilot jet, and spray carb cleaner in there, and then blow out w/compressed air. did you hold the pilot jet up to the light and look thru it? can you see light? you still have cloggage in the pilot circuit. clean out you carbs/pilot jets/pilot circuits again, and report back. be sure to set fuel screws back to 1.5 turns out.

ok have done what mopar and da man said but still have issues like yama. also exhaust heats up cherry red real fast,,,, is my 99 700sx,,,,

check your coil, caps and wires for rest. for your miss

n0rt, what is all done to your sled, and what is the current jetting? you shouldn't be having exhaust get cherry red. do you guys have a air leak somewhere?

cked out last season were factory, all i know of history is a can was put on it, rest of sled seems
stock carbs seemed to be seated into rubber before reeds, show no signs of air leak, has me stumped

will not assume and remove carbs again this weekend and let you know plug color and jets sizes, appreciate all and any suggestions and help

yeah..like mouse nests in the exhaust.Had mice really pack up exhaust pipe that was sitting on the shelf for 2 years. You wouldn't believe what was in there and the time I took to getit all out..crazy man.
