Did anyone ATTEND or ride in the TOYS FOR TOTS motorcycle parades anywhere today??? My wife and I made our (3) toys donation at 7am this morning on the way to church... It was 8 degrees and when we got out of church and done with breakfast, we WATCHED from the sidelines the parade down WESTERN AVENUE in Chicago... About 1000 BIKES and a few dozen "other things" from fire trucks to HUM VEES !!!! ALWAYS A GOOD TIME to support a GREAT ORGINIZATION!!!!

Motorcycle parades today?
With the low temps, I think it would be foolish to go out, even at parade speeds.
I am all for charity rides during decent motorcycle weather though...

Toys for Tots is always the first Sunday in December. Basically, bikers and Marines teaming up to collect toys for families that are needy. It is a huge parade that sometimes draws more like 10,000 bikes. 1,000 seems low, even with the weather?
I went about 3 years ago and there was 30,000 bikes!!!! DEFINITELY the WEATHER this year.. Toys are cheap and so is gasoline,so,,it probably isn't the economy!!! it's been around for THIRTY + YEARS and it's always the first SUNDAY IN DECEMBER!!! There is talk of changing it,,,but,, the tradition is the first sunday in December... ALWAYS a GREAT TIME even if it is 8 outside
