Hi all,
I have an 03 Viper with 150 miles on it. New to this sled and still figuring out it's qwirks (sp?). It has ES and Reverse.
When I hit the brake, it makes a noise like there are metal parts slapping together. Really a big CLANG! Sort of sounds like a soft hit on a metal drum symbol minus the vibration. It is very unsettling.
I just bought an 02 MM and it doesn't make the noise so at least I feel like this is a sound I should not be hearing. Anyone ever have the same symptoms? Suggestions? I was thinking that the original owner may have tried to drive with the parking brake on and maybe some cables got stretched???
Oh, the sled brakes just fine right now, but I am a little fearful that the braking system needs some TLC

Did you check the brake pads? Is there a gap between the rotor & the pads?

Sounds like the brake pads are worn out.
check pads first then the chain tension in the chaincase.

i have the same problem on my SRX, its your secondary clutch, check out the bolt that hold it to the drive shaft, there probably is a gap.
