Using a mercury manometer to setup/check the carbs. Do i connect the manometer to the vent line as this is the only place i find to tap into the carbs for a vacuum reading?

no, it wont work off the vent lines, you have to tap into the vacuum in the manifolds(intake) to use that. They offer a unit that goes on the rear bell of the carbs for a snowmobile. I will tell you you dont really need a mercury guage on a 2 stroke sled engine, just simply set the slide height to all the same using the adjusters under the carb caps, you can even use a drill bit as a index guide. Then after you have dontthat set all your fuel screws to the same distance out from lightly seated and your all done.

Don, when using the drill bit method, do you hold the slides up a bit(with the throttle flapper) so they are not resting on the idle screw? Then set them all the same from there?
Please explain.
Thanks, Sno

use the throttle stop screw to set the gap(spec) in the middle carb then adjust the two outer carbs(to that same spec),as they have the adj screws in them, under the cover..using three drill bits of the same.

Hey Snowjunkie, how have you been?

Have you ridden yet this year?

Did I see your 500 for sale?
