well i was doing a check up on my sled and the coolant cap looked loose so i pushed it in and it went to far and when i was trying to get it out it dropped right into the coolant. is okay?, will it hurt my engine and if so how could i get it out

how can you fit a coolant cap into any part of the coolant system? can you explain, I don't understand how this can happen. if you explain a little better we can help you. you don't want any objects in the coolant system that will block or severely decrease the flow.

that is funny..cap fell in..impossible.But here on this site anything is possible. You'll have to cut the reservoir open bigger on top, fish it out with a hook and re-epoxy the reservoir back..I don't know...lol...better ask daman.

He must mean the rubber cap that goes inside the coolant cap.....If that is what you mean, disconet the bottle, empty it and flip it.....Then grab it with some needle nose pliers.....that is all I can think of.....

Go easy guys, he's probably refering to the rubber under the OVERFLOW bottle cap. Which would be really easy to accidently drop/push into the overflow bottle.

That is what I said...

That is a poor design.. That dang thing always falls off somewhere.. If you can't fish it out with a nose picker, you may have to remove the coolant bottle as suggested. Here is what I would use: Nose Picker
Best 2 bucks you'll ever spend. lol

dumb question but doesnt it float ? cant you just fill it up and make it rise and grab with needle nose and than drain a little out ? or does it sink ?

believe it or not it sinks i thought it would float but it doesnt and since its only the overflow would it be ok if i cant get it out

No it wont be ok, it might plug the bottom and not let the coolant run thru in case you have a leak or open the carb coolers....If you can't fish it with a coat hanger, try taking the reservoir bottle out and so it that way...

You otta get one of those little gadgets that Ding and snowdust are suggesting. probably your best bet without removing the tank etc. Soc
