I bought my viper in edmonton of a insurance company and I dont know alot about it. It has some kind of dial a jet on it ,but the guy drilled a hole in the side of the bowl and a hose goes up to the front of the carb and it is hooked to a long jet that goes inside the front of the carb. the jets have a screw head on top and it doesnt look like the ones you see on that thunder something site. does anyone know about these things, if they are home made or not? how would you set them? the guy drove it in the mountains . :

from the sounds of it they are dial a jets .. the scew looking jet is correct , no they are not homemade..lol... they really work well ,the owner did not drill a hole in the bowl he drilled a hole in the carb collar , if you look close does the dj go through the clamp that holds the rubber boot on ?? it should ..first thing is when you take your carbs apart dont undo the clamp , tear the air box down so you can get to the inside and push the boots through from the inside out .. the tube that runs to the bowl is were the extra fuel comes from there was a drain screw there and you just replace it with the screw with the tube on it ..... each hole on the top of the dj(white disk) is a setting (not a jet size!!!) to adjust the settings you need to back out the screwjet alittle then you can turn the white disc with the holes in it the smallest hole is the richest setting and the largest hole is the leanest setting .. what ever hole is lined up with the screwjet is the setting you are running once you choose your setting screw the screwjet back tight .....now to really get the most out of these your going to need to do some test runs , but as a safe baseline i would start 1 to 2 main jet sizes smaller than stock or to a pipe spec if your running pipes , you want to find the best jet size for the dj to run in the middle hole on a normal temp/. day .. example if when you ride it is normally 15deg. outside test on a day its 15 deg outside put the dj in the middle hole and make some test runs , always tune to plug color and piston wash , test until your happy with your jetsize and the dj in the middle hole .....that way if your out on a day trip it get really cold out you have 2 setting to richen it up or if it gets really warm out 2 setting to lean it out ......if your not into testing and fooling around with it , just go one size smaller on the the mains to be safe and it will work great !!!one other thing is though the dj sometime cause a lean spot in the middle you may need to adjust your eclip on the needles 1/2 to 1 setting richer ...just make sure when you test make a coulpe runs at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and then check plugs and wash ...im sure you know this but i just want to say when you do these test runs you always hit the kill switch to stop your run and dont touch the gas after you hit the kill example: find a 1000 foot stretch to run on if your doing the main jet test hit it out of the hole and keep her pinned for 900 ft. while you have it pinned hit the kill then let go of the gas ...oh ya dont forget to hit the brakes ......that way you are getting a correct reading ...i really like mine , they have worked great !!!!if you need some help you know were to find me ...good luck

Billy Bong, it kinda sounds like a Tempa Flow, but all I had to do was make 1 adjustment the first time I rode the sled after installing...

dont make me !!!
whats up grape , hey you going to press those drivers for me ???I still need to take the track off .... ya the temaflow is sweet BUT, the t/f takes gas away from the sled when temps change and with under hood temps diff. than actual temps and the piped viper being a fricken time bomb for the first couple years, i didnt want to take the chance.. the dial a jet only give gas when needed and will never go lower than your main jet size ...and thats the only reason i picked d/j over the t/f any other sled and it would have been the t/f for me ......
