Greeting all,
Just got back into the game with a new ride! I picked up a '01 SXR600 with a studded track that's in marginal shape. There are some areas where the rubber is peeled slightly but would like to make it through this season if possible. Questions:
1) What's a good all-around trail-type track replacement?
2) Do I have to worry about lug height, pitch, limitations?
3) I've seen tracks that say "clipped every third" or "fully clipped"; what are the differences between these other than weight?

Thanks for your input!

I installed a Camoplast Hacksaw 1" last year on my '02 SX600R, pretty sure it is clipped every third. I am happy with it so far, I also installed 144 used picks from my old track. Probably replace the studs later this season. I think you can go with a 1.25" tall track, but can not stud it. 1.25" is the maximum clearance for a stock machine.

This is the pace 3 (clipped every third) track on my XT, i believe they all have every other window closed as you can see, they seem to hold snow pretty good and i don't see anything abnormal about wear or anything after last season.

Thanks for your input. I'm leaning towards the Carve but I'm a little confused of all the variations available even for a 121" track...I guess I'll shoot for the lightest weight version. Until then, time to ride! There is WAY TOO much snow around here!
