I picked up this sled last weekend, as I'm looking it over I notice the carb switch is unplugged. What they did is loop the switch wires together and loop the harness wires together. I plugged it back in and the sled runs fine, any ideas why it might be unhooked?
They disconnected the TORS for some reason. Throttle cable might have been too tight and it was triggering the TORS? Only THEY know the exact reason.

Throttle over ride system.
It work with a switch located in the throttle block. It is a safety system mainly for Carbs freezing in an open throttle position.
There should be some other bullet style connectors that lead up to the handle bars. These shouol get connected up to the loop you were referring to at the carbs. The can only be connected one way so don't worry about messing it up. If the TORS kicks in, it will seem like a rev limit when hitting the throttle. If this is the case, you could hae a bad contact at the throttle block or at the carbs. Or the throttle cable could be too tight. If it's the throttle cable you should be able to adjust. However, if it's one of the cantacts, you will need to replace if you want the TORS safety system to work properly, Which I and most people reccomend.

^^^^ What he said, and well written by the way!
If you do a search for TORS, you'll get some more threads with pictures on adjusting the throttle cable and testing the system when it's all hooked up.

Ok thanks guys. As of right now it hooked up again and sled runs perfect. I'm going to try riding it then and see if it acts up.

It will start and idle fine. If there is a problem, it will be when you hammer the throttle. I don't need to describe it, you will know by the BAWWWWWWW!
I'm hoping that ^^^ won't happen LoL
You can check it out before you even leave the garage. Added new link to my sig, 'TORS Help'. Pic in there on testing the system to see if it's working.
