Hey guys!!
Took out my sled last night for my first REAL ride in my life!!! it was AWSOME!
couple of touch ups are needed though...
my belt seems to be sliping... the secondary clutch is a bender... n its set at 90lbs if this makes sense to u guys? and if you require this info.. my primary is a comet(brand new) my belt is also brand new... my neighbour showed me quiclky whats what but didnt really go into detail since he was busy...
Can you guys show me how to properly tune up my clutch... post pics if possible.. makes it easyer for me to follow!...
I did do a few searchers but most of what pops up is what to put IN the clutch for best performance... i just want to set the correct tention so its more snapy n doesnt slip.
please note this is my first sled so this will be my first time toying around with the parts on it...
Also my lights on my speedo dont work anymore but every other light does including brights and oil light.... any idea what it is or is it just a burnt light?

Get rid of the comet primary clutch
buy a yamaha yxr primary clutch
check for chaffed wires in wiring harness
could be a stator starting to go south.

had chafed wires under engine and bad relays on my 2001. PITA driving home at night without lights!!!!

alrite ill check for the chaffed wires.. wouldnt the stator effect all lights?? not just one for the speedo.. cause everythin is workin up to prime..
is there a way i can check if the stator is starting to go?
as for the comet.. im going to be stuck with it for this season.. i just got it n dont got the funds... I wana get my atv back up and runing b4 spending more money on the sled that is not 100% needed... though i know im better off with the yammie clutch..
the guys on HCS and you turk i believe said i should go with the yamie clutch n just sell my comet... but for now the comet is gona have to stay = /
wouldnt increasing my lbs on the secondary prevent the slipping? or is the comet soo crapy that im gona have to tuff it out till next season for a yamie clutch like u recomend.
also can the yamie clutch u recomend use heelclicker components without mods??? cause the old one i had was dremeld for them i think.. if u remeber my post u saw some pics on HCS of it...

Yamaha primary clutches are a dime a dozen.You can pick one up on ebay pretty cheap.IMO spend the money on a yamaha primary or keep your comet and spend the money on smoked belts.

Ive read that post about the new belts, ive done abit of reaserch b4 postin =p ... ive put on about 150 clicks on it or so...
I checked on ebay for a yamaha yxr primary clutch on the states ebay and canadian ebay and got one but 251 without shipping is kinda steep for me right now... and turk mentioned a yamaha YXR primary?
what ya mean by smoked belts? the belts will spin on it no matter what n just b finished?
Can you guys show me how to increase the tention so it prevents slipping anyways for now.
If it does smoke belts ill let it do my belt i have that way it will give me a good reason to buy one without my parents bitchen about me spending money on it that it doesnt need "cause it has a new clutch"
They are on my case cause i borrowed some cash to fix up my atv... which then broke again.. so im still in the proccess of repaying em. So for every penny i spend on "useless stuff" they harass the crap out of me... So if the comet does kill my belts atleast they will understand and ill comfort more myself cause that damn comet put a damn hole in my pocket 500$ later... But thats what i get for not doing any research b4 buying.

Just curious... how much does a primary with full heal clicker set up go for used around here????? im starting to look around for one thats already fully tuned for the srx.. saves me the work.. or some of it atleast...
also.. i checked out the wirring.. i didnt find a damaged spots yet but now my speedo light works when it feels like it so i guess i moved it around n it changed something... so im gona have to dig up all the wires n see whats going on... could you guys help me find which wires which! I got no clue what im looking at and I dont want to mess around with everything and mess things up...
Im a newb at working with sleds and I want to learn, just need some guidance!
