I bought a Center shock mount off E-bay and now I have a question. It is the lower mount and the one i bought is slightly different.
My old "BENT" one has a slot on the ends that fit over a protrusion where it mounts to the sides of the rails. The one I bought does not have this slot. Do you guys think it will be Okay to remove some of the material from the sides of the rails so this other part will mount ? Will it still be strong enough ?

Sled is a 2000 700SXr

The one you purchased is the older style. I had cracks in the mounting holes of the rail using that piece. I ended up welding the rail and using a heavy washer on the outside. Seemed to help, but am no longer riding the Viper. Grinding material will work, but not sure of the durability after doing this. Sorry I can't be of more help.

shock brkt

you sure you didn't get a lower bracket for the 141 151 pro action mnt suspensions, there is no grove in those. The SXr ones are expensive but I have a spare if interested. 01 SX700r

Mine has a slight bend in it. I told that to Bruce at B-Line when he rebuilt my shocks. He told me to get one out of a 02 or 03 viper. They changed the angle slightly to reduce the tendancy to bend. I didn't get one yet, but did try to straighten mine. It was semi successful, it started to bend back (I used a press) then it dimpled (very slightly), so I stopped. Hope that didn't weaken it too much.
