I have an SRX700 and a 97 Vmax 600XTC. I know from experience that I have to go through and clean the carbs on the SRX every year without fail. Do I have to go through the carbs on the vmax every year also?
yup .....i would ...not worth taking a chance melting it down for 30 minuites of easy work

I'm convinced that the gas stabilizer does not work as well on gas that has ethanol blended in. If you look on the internet there is a lot if information and speculation out there. The marine industry is particularly hard hit and Stabil has come up with a new formula specific to them. My solution has been to completely drain all gas from tank and carbs prior to putting the sleds away. This is the second year I've done it with no problems and I've done it on my snowblower for years.
Interesting post. My boat ran like absolute crap on the first tank every year. Boat was fogged and Stabiled. This year, I ran the tank all the way down and will start with a full tank of fresh gas next year.

If I do nothing else, the carbs get cleaned at the start of each season. I'll even do my wife's sled midseason, she follows all of the time, does not like to lead. Her carbs always have dirt in them.
