just wondering if i should worry about my buddy, he has a 96 xlt with an ultra 680 engine on it. It is stock xlt gearing with 42mm carbs, that is the only upgrade. I have a 98 srx 700 with hauck silencer and cold air intake. Who wins? I wont stop talking smack about how hes gonna smoke me but i think Im gonna wax him good. We both just got these sleds in the summer and neither one of us has studs.

Unless he has piped the Ultra he is gonna get some serious buttsmacking by your SRX. With a piped and correct set up Ultra engine there will be a VERY tough matchup between you two. Shape of the day will then decide the winner in my opinion.

Not even close. Your going to want to get that thing studded though.. or change tracks....or both. The stock setup was not very good at all. Once you get going though, you will pull by him as if he was riding a 600.

Unless he has the triple piped Ultra motor, then you won't have any issue.

Even if it had triple pipes, the srx should beat the ultra.

haha thats pretty good blueblooded, yeah they are fast, but not SRX fast, as of right now, all I can think of that will pass the SRX is like a thundercat, but hey, the polaris or the cat is not near as reliable as the SRX

My buddy had an Ultra Sp. He messed around with it ...with and without SLP triples on it. I never saw such a jeckyl and hyde machine in my life. More so than not it was a turd in either condition, but once in a blue moon and I mean a BLUE moon ,if all the stars were lined up, it went like all out ^&%*&$!! But my guess is no problem unless the motor was sent to HTG racing or something like that.

I have seen dyno tests will ultraengines breaking out 154 hp with only tripple pipes on it and as stated above. WHEN they run good, I would put my money on the Ultra against the SRX. In the long run although, I would without a doubt put my money on the SRX. They run like h^&%¤$ everyday!

I had a buddy that put pipes on his ultra and we used my 97 sx700 to test against. He never did get that POS to beat my lil red head. There should be now worries what so ever against an srx.
