i have an 02 viper thtat is stock except for a 1.25 ripsaw track. since i put the track on i am turning close to 8900 rpm. has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to get the rpms back down to where they should be. any help would be great, most of the time i ride on groomed trails and very agressive.

your not too far off form your traget.....

Try adding some tip weight(heaver rivets) to your primary weights,do you
know what your set up is?? post it...

How many miles

The suggestions above are certainly not incorrect and will fix it but I'm just wondering how many miles on the sled and if your primary spring could be getting weak.

thanks for the replies. i have just shy of 9000 miles on the sled but wouldn't a weak primary spring bring my rpms down? i am thinking about replacing the weights and woundering if there is a "better" profile weight that would help with my problem. my weights have some "ridges" on them, thats the only reason i am thinking about replacing them.

time for new rings,if original...

anyway check the tech section out, lots of good clutch set up's there from
different memebers.,or try search, sounds like you need new weights..

madmatt, it would be the other way around. weak spring would lower rpms, cause the clutch would shift quicker....due to weaker spring, thus dragging down rpms.

you could run polaris weights. nice aggressive profile, or you could get some heavy hitters and then adjust weight. heavy hitters have the same polaris 10 profile, but you have the advantage to adjust weight around here or there, for the optimum shift rpm, etc. it will also shift harder.
