how does a piped red head run compared to a stock srx?
I never ran an SRX but I know they are hard to beat, I think there is no comparision, 2 diferent sleds and the SRX has a lot more balls. IMO

Not much of a comparison.
One has power valves the other does not. I think the SRX motor has higher compression too.

a piped red head can be made to run against the srx. It all in how much you want to spend. Pipes, porting, reed mods, clutching, the right track. I have beat some srx's before.
A piped sx with all the mods, reed spacers, thin head gasket, clutched, transfer rods....etc, will destroy a stock 98 or 99 srx from a standing start! Have done it many times. The newer srx's might be a different story.

With just the pipes the SRX is going to outrun the red head any year. With the mods mentioned above, The red head can outrun the SRX any year. This is assuming the SRX is 100% stock..

My SX 600 with PI pipes, head gasket, reed notch, clutched and jetted is pretty close out of the hole but mid to top the SRX is gone.
