If you gear down AND you have put the heaviest rivets/bolts in the tip of the weights and the sled still overrevs, what are your options?

I wouldn't like to go softer on the primary spring because I think the sled might bog down if you hit a little heavier snow. Or will it?

I don't want to go soft on the secondary heller because I want to have at least some backshift (minimum 70 deg green)

I guess the only thing that remains is the helix, which you can use a steep finish angle on?

What do you think?

I am asking on a general basis but the info is below. I am discussing that on another thread.
Whats your set up with the srx that even has been ported? Especially interrested in the helix angle.

50/38
hc 401-0
2002 srx
overrevs by 200-400 depending on gearing

Well I just got done testing almost your same exact set-up.. I used a 51-38 Dalton, Red clicker primary, Stock 2002 gearing, Green secondary @ 60.

I ran 6.2g heel and 6.4g tip. I had to go to 60 degrees on the secondary to get RPM's close. It was running 8500-8600 on a longer run. Here are the results from my testing:
51/38 Dalton – Sec w/ Green spring @70

5.4 Heel
5.6 tip
8700 entire way

6.2 heel
6.4 tip
8600 entire way

6.2 heel
2.5 center
6.4 tip
8450-8500

6.8 heel
2.5 center
6.4 tip
8350 – 8500 but DCS is coming on for all of these set-ups. Comes on between 90-100mph.

Sec spring @ 60
6.2 heel
6.4 tip
8450 – 8500....8600 – DCS still coming on.

I wanted to keep weight in heel and tip so I went back to the Advant-edge 48/40 and have that dialed in to hit 8300...then to 8500 on a long pull. I was just looking to try something different this year. Note - To get the 2.5 center weight, you have to cut down a small bolt. I also have decided to disable my DCS this year since I have made no motor or clutching mods and the light still comes on. Tried the octane boost, rubber washer, etc...

I even tried 8 grams in the tip but that made a nice groove in my spider. (Nuts that fit the heelclicker bolts)
I have to grind 2 mm of the nut "height".
I have lots of test results at home, I am there on sunday.
Let's keep in touch..
I am also working on the dcs thing.

I noted that your sled is ported. That might enable the dcs because I guess the head chamber design has been altered..
