99 SX600 Update to Long Travel

Look for a set of viper take off shocks. You need to install bushings in the bulkhead, longer limiter straps and 10mm spacers on the bottom of the control rods. You will also need radius rods and steering rods from a long travel sled. Then you need spacers to shim your sway bar. It's not as bad as it sounds. I'm sure you can find all the parts you need on this very website. :rocks:

thanks eskimsx600...

wish I did this last winter when I rebuilt the right front suspension/steering (wife got a LITTLE to close to a tree)...but wanted to get riding again, so did the stock thing...

sounds like you've done this...I may ping you when the time comes!

The short travel shocks use brackets to locate the shocks. The bracket bolts to the side of the bulkhead and to the top with an aluminum bushing. The long travel shocks don't use this bracket. They bolt directly to the hole where the aluminum bushing goes. You need to replace this bushing with a rubber and steel bushing and bolt the top of the shock there.
