Thinking of buying a 780 BB SRX from a member. Spent some time on the ph tonight and the sled sounds like a nice sled and member was very helpfull.
Wondering what experience every one has had with there 780BB.
I have a friend that has a 98 SRX with a Maximum Performance 780 BB. It has been very reliable but not that fast. Do they make good trail sleds. Are they as reliable as a stocker? Motor was built by Mr Viper. I would like to take to him if any body has his PH#

Thanks Bruce

RE:780 bb I have had a simmons kit on mine for three seasons now with no regrets its a stage one kit and runs at the stock rpm level dropped about two miles to the gallon on mileage but worth every penny it rocks.I give those firecats more than they can handle they cough up a fur ball every time warm the engine up do not cane it cold and always run hi test gasoline no exceptions and I know you will be pleased I would like to try a 835 bender kit in the future when money allows.ICEMAN

Best way is to PM here.. He will respond, Sounds like something was hurt or its not setup right...

From what Ive heard and read is Maxx. Perf. basically bored the cylinders to make it a 780 but didnt do much to improve the porting for the extra displacement. PM Don(MRVIPER700) he'll beable to answer any question you may have.

I had don[mrviper700] build me a 780 last year ,by far the best money i have spent on a mod. i did alot of reading before chooseing who i would get to do it and don was the only one that i could not find any bad comments about.Like stated above LET IT WARM UP GOOD and FEED IT GOOD FUEL {what ever octane he recomends for that particular one} and it should live a long time. Puts a smile one my face every time i ride it. 2400km's and no problems yet.

Thanks for the info.
Got a hold of Don today and he put all our fears aside. Then he pumped us up. Called seller tonight to buy sled and we just missed the deal. He had two sleds for sale and only one was to be sold. Well he has someone picking up his 700 SRX on Sunday so the BB is gone.
We just won a bid for a very nice 2000 SRX on ebay. Sled is stock so now the work begins.
Thanks again.
Bruce
