the track got blocked when i was going for drive today on my MM 700.
what could possibly cause something like that...? Must be something wrong in the chaincase..? The engine is not blocked. Also it didnt respond to the steering.

Are you saying that the track quit spinning, or the suspension quit working, please describe a little more what was happening.

If the track locked up check the chain case for chain/gear failur, also look into the lower front axle brg, by the speedo, gear. This is located on the left side below the secondary clutch. As far as steering goes, if the track is not rotating it would be hard to control where you are going, ie. towing sled.

It could be a simple as a rock, hunk of wood or big chunk of ice stuck between the top of your tunnel and track. Raise the track off the ground and try to turn backwards from the normal rotation. If it will not turn, most likely there is something stuck in the top of tunnel and track. Dig around up there and you will find it. I have seen rocks so tight that we had to unbolt the skid to get them out. Usually happens at the start of the riding season.

lol, last year my brothers mountain max the track locked up going down the trail and about sent him over the bars. there was a chunk of ice that fell off the tunnel and got spun up between the track and tunnel. it took quite a bit of pounding and 3 of us pulling the track back and forth to get the bugger out
Maybe you should look for a bent rail or a rail missing the "cap" on the tip.

brg
I seized a jackshaft brg on my old 93 VMax 4 and finally ended up removing the chain to tow it . Yup over the handle bars I went .

will have to look into the chaincase, i think it might be something wrong there. The suspension is working fine. Could also be something with the driveshaft. Its definately not ice or rocks blocking the track. It will blocked up the track after a few meters of driving. i rised up the end of the sled and gave some throttle, then the track came loose. Havent been towing it. The skis are not having any effect when driving the sled, i only drove a few meters and returned. It will go straight forward when fully steering one way or the other.

On the skis having no affect, the limiter straps are probably set loose and the weight transfer is pulling them slightly off the ground. If you want more ski pressure, then tighten your limiter straps up a inch at a time or so until its where you like it.
