well i rode my sled for the first time tonight, for about 20 minutes. And when i pulled back to the garage i heard the belt chirping quietly. What do i do in order to fix this? We are getting a foot of snow here in western MA tomorrow and i want to rideee :letitsnow

Sounds like your belt deflection is off a little. Did you just recently put on a new belt? At any rate, you need to remove your secondary. On the back side are three bolts with washers on them. Remove the washers and put bolts back in. This will open the secodary a little more and drop your belt down into the sheaves a little, which removes some tension from the primary and stops the squeal. Also check the ends of the three bolts, if they are wore/mushroomed very much I like to just replace them. If you put in new bolts, try them first with the washers on. If still squealing, then remove them.

mod-it is spot on,try that and let us know.

how much should i go on it? 2 or 3 complete turns out?

No, you completely remove the bolts, take a washer out, and then put the bolt back in on each of the 3 locations.

I need to do this myself on my venture. I put a new belt on and it squeaks. You can physically see that the belt is riding too high in the sheaves on mine.

1 bolt will hold in the secondary clutch, take that out, and be mindful of any washers on the end if there are any. take washers out of these 3 bolts on the pic above, replace the bolts with less washers equally around, and re install the secondary.
