1989 Ovation carbs

i do not know if there is even a synch setting on that thing. i have the same carb on my et410t/r. i know it is a 1 spread to 2 bore to make it act like twin carbs if it still has stock carb.

best thing to do is take it off, flip it over and remove the bowl. then run a small wire and some carb cleaner through the jets/passages. make shure that the choke plunger is closing properly. drain old gas from tank if 1st run of the season and run some fresh 92 octane through with some seafoam in it.

carb is a pita as i have never found a good exploded diagram of it anywhere. yamaha only used it on the 340-410cc air cooled twins and my dealer has problems finding info on mine and they sold it to me.

Yeah, that's it. Weird *** carb. I already cleaned it up, it looked good. It runs fine for about 10 minutes, then it starts hesitating as soon as you give it some gas. I think that it's an air/fuel mix issue, because the needle and seat are closing properly, and the plugs are still geting wet. Could be a choke issue, I suppose, but I don't know.

try it without the belt on. might be the clutch. dont hammer it too hard but should eliminate one possible cause.

we have an 78et250 that the clutching is very aggressive on and it bogs on takeoff unless you know how to get it moving. then it will pass most 340cc sleds.
