My son purchased a Yamaha WR450 motorcyclelast spring. He has used it in the foothills and mountains west of Calgary for one season and now thinks he would like to have it "uncorked". Does anyone know what is involved?
Can anyone recommend somone in Calgary who could change the oil and filters and perform the "uncorking" that he wants?
Thanks in advance

No it was not stored or plugged up. Its in a heated garage waiting for him to tow it for service. Apparently the uncorking process involves cuting a wire, changing a throttle stop and something with the muffler. He claims its quite common but doen't know who to take it to. This mod is supposed to produce more power.

You might want to go to a dirt bike forum/ site and look around.
If it is a common mod, then it should be easy to find. It would not surprise me to see easy mods like this that really gain power, other brands do the same thing.

Remove the Exhaust baffle, re-jet, grind down the throttle stop and remove a reducer in the airbox. It will turn it into a beast........

I think hes reffering to the fact that bikes come from the factory de-tuned to meet emission regulations. A few simple adjustmenst get them up to their real potential. Most dealers will do this for you right out of the crate if you ask.horkn said:was it stored and plugged up?? or does he want more HP?
