yeah, mine saved me bigtime last season, hit a snowbank on the lake...(plowed and covered by snow) sent me flying and came down in jagged ICE chunks....POW!!!!!
broke the skid plate loose (4 rivets gone) but saved the belly of the sled...that was a scary feeling

DeviantSRX said:I paid rite around 4 hundo for mine. That includes loops, mounts, 6" carbides and a lil extra for them in white shipped rite to my door. Talk to Rich (RichieRich) from Rich Motorsports - he hooked me up with mine - no complaints here whatsoever.
Thanks.....

Anyone know how the Slydog trail model is in powder?
Skis
I also look at better skis, in powder. A friend have MM skis on his srx and this is better than stock, but not enough. I think I need bigger ski bottom area, have heard of people using powder pros and skis from the newer mountain yamahas. But I don´t now what to buy. I can put some money in it but I don´t want to spend alot of money to change nothing. So let us now of your experiencies I don´t like that my srx run like a submarine (and my friends nytro is even worse, the only reason for me to not buy a new snowmobile)lol.

It sounds like you are going to have to make the call, as everyone has chimed in with good advice on a variety of skis.
I cant speak for the others, but Id recommend C&A Razors to anybody....already have 3 other pals who now run em....after trying mine..LOL The Razor DO take alot of arm strength at times....but C&A also makes several less intense models, still offering the improvements you are after

Well I realize that the Viper is a completely different animal than the new Nytro......but the guys over on the 4 stroke side such as Turk are not too crazy about the Slydogs on their Nytros. It sounds like the agreed upon all around best ski from sled to sled for all conditions is the SLP Powder Pros.

replacement ski's
I have the Simmon Flex dual carbide skis on my 02 Viper ER. They are nice and float well in the powder, and corner well, but I have fought a moderate to severe darting problem on hard-pack / groomed trails since I installed them. I checked/adjusted alignment, and tried different carbide combos without much luck. I tried my buddies stock skis from his 01 SX-R and the darting goes away...

I am hearing good things about the SLP Powder Pros. I also found a website that they are on sale at now too. Some of the 4 stroke riders swear by them. On another note, I know Ulmers really swear by the Slydogs on the Viper. hmmm.......I have to get something. My Cobra track hooks so well the sled want to go straight in the corners...LOL!!

I was riding trails and 4ft of fresh powder with some buddies up in the Keewanu Pennisula and didn't have a problem keeping up off trail and on trial was not an issue either. plus they look BA.
here are some pics just for fun.
