I am currently tryin to put a 5 inch risor on the ole vmax. But however I ordered brake, oil, and fuel cable. They all work except for the fuel cable. Here are some pics I even adjusted out the adjuster all the way.

I measured the old cable with the steal pulled out all the way out on both stock cable and aftermarket cable and the difference was 1 one and about a half of an inch. Which is what I figured I needed to make it right or at least tight. As you can see in the picture the slack is alot ther

Do you think I have the wrong cable or Am I just flat out stupid ? I am tryin to get this sled ready to take to the family cottage so all the kids can have some fun ridin on christmas....

Thanks guys Chadg

Did you measure the cable and the casing? Both of them need to be extended equally.
Example, if you added 1 1/2" to the cable, then the casing needs to be 1 1/2" longer also.

It was sent to me assuming it was the right cable...... It would not matter..

what would matter would be the length
of the old the cable hanging out the end of the casing with the fitting the same size as the the stock just a longer cable part. Correct me if I am wrong

because the throttle can only pull what ever is out side of the casing

If you had 2" of cable sticking out of the shorter casing , you have to have the same 2" sticking out of the longer casing, no more no less. More=you will end up with the extra slack that it looks like you have, Less= you will run out of cable before your throttle lever reaches the bar,or you wont have enough to allow the carb close completely.

With the slack that you have now, pull the casing out of its seat untill the cable is tight. That will show you how much longer your casing should be.
