a buddy of mine was working on his sled 1996 yamaha vmax 600 he was replacing the slides put them in and then went to put the screws in and cross threaded them and they do not want to move in or out what should he do anyhelp would be appreciated thanks

They have to come out anyways but if the threads are wrecked just drill right through the wrecked threads and put a longer screw and nylock nut on instead. Drill right through the rail. New screw with nylock nut probably cheeper than OEM stuff.

Personally i would drill it out (smaller then the threads) Then tap the hole and see how it turns out.
