As you "all" know, I have been having trouble with the dcs going off my sled all the time. I got tired of it so I took it to the regional yamaha dealer. The result of the leakdown test? pto: 82% tight (I guess that's what they measure)
middle, 100% tight and mag 75(!)% tight. So I took it to the local performance shop for further inspection (since their time prices are way more human). The result?
1) All pistons are under spec (I guess it's the diameter they are talking about)
2) Piston (ring lands?), the groove they are in are too sloppy, allowing the ring to move more freely up and down in the groove than it should.
The sled has pretty exactly 5000 miles on it.
3) One or both reed plates on middle cylinders are bad.
I'm hoping new rings, pistons and reed plates will cure the dcs problem.
