I need to know if the straps I have that are 15 1/4 inches long, are the long travel ones...I'm having some issues with slides and transfer and I'm thinking I have the wrong ones...Anybody...? Mike (MAXDLX)?

I have no threads showing (isn't this makes the preasure off the skis) on the straps and my shocks are ste half way. I'm burning slides like hell, I actually look at the track clips and it has a ton of plastic from the slides, Also my track was pretty loose, so loose I was ratcheting when giving it gas.

Any help guys would be great

Sorry for the second thread, but the other one went another direction...

Thanks

Nick

The video was great, but i can't seem to understand if I have no threads showing on the straps and my shocks are set half way all the way around, when I'm not on the sled the gap on the T. rods is on top......Why I'm burning the slides and why the back of the track is off the ground...? :dunno:

From the 2001 Proaction tuning manual:

8" Travel models limiter strap length=371mm (14.6")
11.5" Travel models limiter strap length=396mm (15.6")
That is the rubber section of the strap, end to end.

Minimum threads above bracket(not the nut) is 10mm(0.4")
Maximum threads above bracket is 35mm(1.375")

2001 stock settings were: Vmax 15mm, Venture 25mm, SRX 32mm(short travel)

By having the limiter straps that far out, you force the front of the skid to carry more weight. Suck the strap up to 25mm, re-set springs for rod gap and try it.

Are you just trying to improve slider wear or are you trying to keep the transfer(which should be a ton with the straps out).

So I have the right ones. I'm trying to improve slides wear and I always want it to have not much preasure on the skis, for better flotation

Once you pull the`straps up, and releavespring preasure on the center shock, you may need to lighten up your ski shocks 2

Thanks Mike and Thanks Crewchief I will try all these new adjustment this week and post back.....Hope I can figuer it out....Nick
