Was out this weekend and noticed that my brake light would not come on when I held the brake lever. The running light works, but it doesn't get brighter when I apply the brakes. I'm hoping it's just that part of the bulb, and I simply need to buy a new one. Anyone else experience this kind of thing.
This same thing happened to my Yamaha Phazer II, and I never did get it fixed. I changed the bulb and looked at all the wires and connections on the Phazer.

This has happened to two of my Yami's...

My lbreak light stayed on all the time, like i was applying my brakes at all times. turns out the part that connects to the brake lever was loose and got jammed, i had to remove the bolt and reinstall, i would check to see if your bolt is loose, everytime you press the lever, the pin slips out not engagin the switch for the brake light...that my suggestion
