All i need is the torque specs for the primary clutch on a 97 700 sx. I beleve it is 80 ft lbs. then back off and tighten to 41 ft lbs. not sure

no good. the clutch is different because you have to tighten it down to smash the tapers together on the crank and inside the primary

roach, your theory is correct. ive been doing 80, backing off, and redoing at 45. check out hartman inc ,look at is clutch page and go from there. tom knows his stuff.
