my wife got me a GPS for xmas.It is a TOMTOM one 130.I already found that when I a going 100 km's/hr on my truck, the GPS is showing 96 km's/hr.Should be interesting when I test it on my sled.Cool device.

I love my Garmin 350. It is great for testing tope speed. I throw it in my jacket pocket then let it rip. It just has car maps i wish it had trail maps.

it is just another toy to carry around. All the hype on these things are nuts.Good if you get lost on a street, but I have used regular maps all my driving life.I will use it a bit and probably forget about it in a few weeks or months.I don't get into new gadgets and waste my money.Probably why I drive an older truck and older sleds.New things are nice and pricey these days, don't need every device that comes on the market. If I have a job to go to next day,I just go to Google Maps and print out my route..very simple.

I use an older Garmin Legend with the handlebar mount, and modded the heated shield circuit to avoid batteries.

I never sled without it now, comes in so handy when exploring in unknown terrain...takes the fear of getting lost out of it, and also in bad conditions coming off the lake from fishing at night...just point it at the dot...lol

Have fun with the new gadget.

Congrats, You'll love it. I would not be caught riding with out mine. We spend most of out time running from bog to bog looking for deep powder to carve. They are everwhere and go for miles and miles. Been lost, it's a bad feeling..... It's basically a game with us, head out and use our GPS's to get back to the trail.

No No, only coming off the lake in rediculous weather....before that, I would always circle the shack and point the sled directly where shore is fotr orientation.

This is a huge lake and there's been many a time where I couldnt see 10 feet infront of me....

sounds great i always wanted to get one but being old school i never did , how much would it cost to get one for a sled

it sucks getting caught out in the middle of a lake ice fishing at night and then it gets real foggy, its like i swore land was that way! then we end up going in circles.... yea, it was a little scary.

Are GPS's real accurate with the speed. Can't believe my Truck speedo is off about 4 km/h at 100kph and the van is off 5-6 km's/h at 100 km/h.Guess I won't have to worry about speeding tickets at that speed if off that much.I have to figure how to mount the GPS on the handlebar pad so I can see the mph on it and compare to the speedo.

They are dead nutz accurate... I was doing 120 speedo on the srx and gps said i was doing 110...

I know with bikes, its about a 1 mph error for every 15mph you go.
