hello, and thanks, I really appreciate the help that I got off of this wonderful board. I finally picked up my used 1996 vmax 600 today... it has 3000 miles on it, electric start, 2up seat and reverse..it looks like mint condition. I did notice while riding a clear tubing sticking from underneath the bottom of the front of the sled, there is a hole underneath that looks like its for a tubing, but im not sure where it goes, the hose that sticks out is only like 6 inches long, and is not attached to anything, it is right next to the battery on the front right side as your standing in front of the sled. Is this important? my brother said, it might be for draining the coolant, im not sure what this is supposed to attach to, but its not attached to anything right now, it looks just like a small clear gas tubing or clear tubing that you would use for a pump on a fish tank....thank you much..Pete

great, thanks once again to this board!!!!!!thats what it was, it looks like it was supposed to be hooked up to the top of the battery...by the way, what is that for? is it for the water inside the battery? thanks

just an over flow for the battery acid if it over charges and or bubbles out the acid won't get on the batt/tray and corrode things..
