a buddies son was banging some drifts with his vmax and the thing died. The dad swapped out coil and C.D.I box still no spark at plugs. Any trouble shooting suggestions. Thanks

Check the pick up coil and stator resistances.
The pick up is white/red to white/green should be around 200 ohms.
Stator is the three whites. they should all be around 0.4 ohms to each other.

I had a bad pick up coil this year that sounds the same as you are describing.

my guess would be to check the complete wiring harness for bare wires if they were riding the sled hard it may have grounded out somewhere. When you say bangin drifts what exactly does this mean.

I also have 600 vmax where stator was replaced ,checked all switches, it shows a spark when first turns over and at end of starting??????

So, I read these threads, as I was having a no spark issue on a 95 Vmax 600. Just like the post before, had a spark at the start of the initial ignition turnover, nothing during the engine turning over, then when I let off the ignition switch and had another quick spark?? The pulser coil (pick up coil) showed no reading when I ohm tested it. I removed the recoil, pulled the cover off to remove the pulser coil. Man those two Phillips head screws were locked into the housing. Had to dremmel a slot on the top of them to remove them. Put in a good pulser coil, put everything back together and we have a running sled. thanks for the tips.. As I'm over 40, I put my cheaters on and saw the old pulser coil had a corroded wire just where it went into the body of the coil.
