Just pulled out the suspension from my 2001 SXR500 and found some broken welds on the w arm. I will have these rewelded and ad a support gusset. The cross shafts are badly worn and the bushing are shot. Anyone know of a company that supplies a bushing rebuild kit? Also need a source for a new w arm cross shaft.

Thanks for the help.

just use yamaha for the destroyed bushings and shim all the ones that are intact.
read the threads below to make it better.

Thanks, would you still change the front cross shaft on the w arm? It's really worn on one side or should I just shim it?

Thanks for all your help.

bushings

pioneer powersports(the shock rebuilders) sells complete bushing kits. think i spent 60.00 for a whole bag(all yamaha)the shafts i had made. there about 30.00 at dealer good luck, pete

front shaft replace if it worn oblong, if it is just cut in a little, just shim it.

i have rebuilt a dozen or so skids and have never needed all the bushings. all 6 warm bushings usually, that is it, sometimes the upper rear sissor bushings because of the thrust side being wore out.

dont waste your money on all new bushings.

Thank you all. I will replace the front shaft because it is oblong on one side. And replace / shim bushing as necessary as recommended by the Beth Viper.
