phazer engine sizes

looking around here i see multiple engine sizes for the phazer.
480, 485, 488, 500 anyone know what is going on here....

485 cc (29.59 cubic inches) for the early phazer's

480 nada...
485- 1984-1999 Phazer I, II, ST, and SS
488- Polaris Indy Trail
500- 1999-2001 Phazer (Bending Arm)

whats the difference between the 485 and 500.

The cc's on the 500 are still 485. If my memory serves me right - The cases changed, and the porting changed a little. They took a little more off the table in 99. There were few other changes that elude my memory at the moment.

+ It had a Mikuni oil pump instead of the Yamaha pump used on the previous ones. Maybe the only reason for the different crankcase?
