Quick question. I have a buddy that wants to do the airbox mod from the tech section and reed notch. The question is is stock jetting suffiecent? I know it says move up one jet size however seems like stock jetting is usually on the rich side. Of course there are many varying condition just would like a starting spot.

I will keep it stock if not freezing cold outside the day of testing.....
Otherwise it won't hurt to go up one size to be safe, jets are a lot cheaper than pistons......
Just my opinion.....

AT the very least you may want to run premium fuels, I have 4 of the nonvalved 700's and only one has the airbox mod, I'm not sure you will see much improvement in performance, but the intake noise is mostly the reason I didn't do the others. They all have the spacers in lieu of the notch and the silencer mod. If your friend goes ahead with the airbox mod, he might be advised to carry a roll of tape so it if gets cold then he could cover the holes, good luck.
