assuming you referring to a 121 srx, 2" lugs is about max, with 8t drivers. you should have 9t stock, unless its a msrx.stock gears should be 23/37. you will want to change gearing to anything over 2/1, factoring in the smaller drivers. the srx's are nose heavy and want to push alot, but there are tricks to overcome this. let me know if you need more info.

snowdad4 is right on - 1.5" will fit with stock drivers and guards removed, need to go to 8T for 2" track. I'm running 21/42 gears with a 2" paddle 151". Makes about 2.25:1 ratio when figuring in the 8T drivers. Might want to go to extroverts with the bigger track so it doesn't ratchet. If you sled is a 98 or 99, you might think about upgrading the drive axle - I've read that they are prone to breaking in pre 2000 SRX's. I snapped 2 of them then upgraded to a 2001 axle & no probs since

you want to take at least half of the track out in suspension relocation, the rest in rail extensions. you cant do it all with extensions. with a good relocate kit, it will also change the approach angle and help the sled climb up on the snow. do the extros, no exceptions!, rich motorsports or cb performance have more than fair pricing. i believe rich is a hartman dealer as well. i have done several hartman kits and a few mpi kits, hartman excells in my opinion, maybe a little more $$$, but you can call the guy up and he will give you the time of day as he builds, uses, and knows. you wont get the run around from other manufacturers that have unknowledgable sales clerks at a computer(you want fries w/ that) mentality. once you get it long tracked, i will share the info to make it work. the 144 is not bad for general use, but the 151 works better in the fluff, and the steep and deep. if your gonna go, go long.

so you would recommend a 151 i take it, as for the relocation if i move the suspension back would i still use a 151 extension kit or would i use 144 kit

you can easily move the stock skid down and back. there is a trick to it, but obviosly you want the forward most mounting point(w arm) to be accessable. its about 2.5-3", to give access to the mounting bolt. on the 121 skids, its a little more(its been awhile). once you derive at the relocate points, it just basic math as to the extension lenghth for whatever track you decide to throw on.

so if you bring the skid back do you need drop brackets as well

yes you will need drop brackets, the whole works will come in the kit. i would not go with mpi.....hartman all the way. mpi is a pain in the arse when it comes to customer service....if you dont buya $3k kit they dont even care about you.

mine is a 136" M10 skid with tracks USA extensions. It actually goes thru the powder better than I thought it would and doesn't trench too bad considering the approach angle. The weight is another issue - OK for climbing & great power but boondocking & sidehilling - WOW, it's a workout. It's hard to pull over and toss around. I actually just bought a SkiDoo XP summit for my west riding. The SRX is now strictly for bangin aroung at home and maybe up north in the UP - the 151 is a little extreme for IL but it's still fun. For the $$ I invested to extend to a 151" and prep for mountain riding, I would have been better off leaving the 136" for trail riding and buying new like I ended up doing. Good luck

yeah well in saskatchewan here ill mainly be riding fields ditches but also some areas with a few feet of snow which the sled doesnt seem really bad in a couple feet so far but i would like to be able to ride it a little easier

I did the 144" conversion and taking it out this weekend. I wouldnt mine a few tips to set it up. When i bought my 99 srx it was converted to a 136 and I moved the skid back 4" and down. It looks amazing, my lug hieght is 1.75. I have 8 tooth drivers and down one tooth on bottom gear stock Primary and roller secondary. Also have a 01 engine in it as I blow up the 99 engine. If you want you can PM me with the set up or e-mail me jrgrtdakota@hotmail.com.
Thanks Jeremie
