Motel/ loaction HELP.. Looking for place to add to the trip in the UP.

Every year my group goes to the Buckhorn and Christmas for a trip. What is another trip about 100 miles away from Christmas?

We have gone to to Ishpamen, Grand Maria, what is another cool place to go?

I thought of booking at Alger Falls Motel? But like the fact you can walk from the Buckhorn food/bar to the motel. Does Alger Falls Motel have that?

Trails

There are a couple of cool trails further to the west. One that goes to big bay out of ishpeming its two lanes with a number of rolling hills and over by Silver City there is another two laner that is a blast.

Personally I like the newberry area.

Newberry is good, we start there and ride.

Its a good ride for one day.

Au train is nice and has good access to a few nice areas. I have stayed here a few years. www.reelinn.com check out cabin 2 it can sleep 8 to 10 and has a heated garage and hot tub.

Au Train would be a good day trip from Christmas. What trail do I take and what good places to see and eat?

christmas to gwinn is about 45-50 miles
gwinn to marquette is about 30-35 miles
marquette back to christmas is about 35-45 miles.

This is just me roughing it, i havent looked at a map to get these numbers.

Its an easy ride for a whole day. Shouldn't take longer than 6-8 hours at a steady pace with dinner and bathroom stops.
