Looked all over this site regarding the Pro Action rear skid. A lot of you are going aftermarket ZX2, M10,Expert X, or using a OEM I.E. Edge,SC-10.
My question is that, did'nt the VIPER S equipped with OHLINS Shocks on the Pro Action skid perform really well, a lot of owners seemed really happy with it. Would that not be the easy way get an acceptable ride out of the Pro Action without the expense and trouble of a complete skid re & re? Just throwing this out there for comment.
Thanks,

The Ohlins were only on the front of the Viper S. The Pro-action comes with a differnt shock than the other Viper skids that was more plush compaired to the other Vipers.
Having said that ,I installed an M-10 in my Viper S.
So far my miles are all local, so the suspension has not been tested much yet.
From what I have gathered, I will not be unhappy.

I also have a Viper S and the stock Proaction suspension did have a special Position Sensitive Shock absorber. Unfortunately, they were also steel bodied and Non rebuildable. After 6500 miles, I decided to purchase a set of used aluminum bodied rebuildable shocks from a stock viper and had them custom valved to my specs. The shock builder also reset my skids limiter straps and transfer rods for optimal compliance. It was the best $440.00 dollars I have ever spent. Rides like a cadillac. The Ohlins on the front are absolutely flawless and are buttery smooth.

All in all good for groomed trails and lake running but there is allways that sunday afternoon trail from hell that has seen countless sleds for the entire weekend without a groomer.
And the fact that these sleds are getting older and a 400 $ upgrade for a better suspension is alot cheaper than a new apex or nitro.

I'm currently in the process of putting a Mono RA skid in my viper. Real easy to do with the instructions in the tech pages. From what I've read my back and kidney's will thank me, but we'll see.
