Just replaced the track on my buddy's 98 srx700. Got a good deal on a Camoplast predator [I think]. $360 shipped.
Anyways, got everything back together and the track is rubber-band tight. I have the service manual and tried to follow their instructions on how to adjust the tension, but it doesn't seem to work. Obviously there's something here that I don't understand. I know that the rear axle bolt has to be loose, which was the case, but it is still too tight. Which way [tighten or loosen] do I turn the adjusters to LOOSEN the track? Is there something else here I'm missing?
Thanks,
Jim

counter clock wise should loosen the track and you should have depending on the sled, .98 to 1.18" with 22lbs of pull. I use a fish scale...
