hello, I have my carbs apart, but how do I remove the choke cable from the carbs? do I unscrew the big bolt that it plugs into on the carb itself? its a 96 vmax 600..thanks, pete

& when you get them out pull the choke lever to keep them tight so the plunger thing doesnt come off the cable

put them on a good solid bench or something solid..flip them over & take a good screwdriver & tap each screw a few times with a hammer solid & try to lossen them that way.may take a little bit of taping but it always works for me..can try heat to if youd like.just be careful..you are playing with gas & fire..

better yet you probably shouldnt do the heat method..not bashing you or anything..it's just i dont want you to get more frustrated & damage something....trying tapping them.only
First time i pulled the carbs off my triple I had the same problem, I used a drill bit and took the screws off, I replaced mine with hex screws, that way you would never had that problem again, If you want to stick with the phillips just don't tight them so hard, It aint going anywhere anyways....LOL.
Also if you don't feel good about tje drill bit I will get a small vise grip and turn, that woudl do the trick.......
P.S. Don't you love you found this site......It's amazing how helpfull people is here, right...? Don't freak out when you get a bill/statement on the mail...LOL
Good luck

Also get a tube of anti seize from your local auto parts this will also ease the pain the next time you have to remove the screws.
