I just joined today and I wanted to introduce myself. I just replaced my 97 Vmax SX 700 with a 2001 SRX. Im looking to improve the SRX suspension and hookup issues and just surfing the threads on this site I have learned a ton. Great site!!

You will find a ton of info about suspention set ups and skids swap. Just read, get filled with info and ride, then in the summer time is time to work on it......Good luck and Welcome again....

Welcome aboard and a very solid sled you'll enjoy it immensely.Take advantage of the wealth of knowledge here that the members have to share and you can tailor that sled of yours to do exactly what you want it to do.

it certainly is fast. ive got about 145 miles on it since i bought it, not a sleeper by any means, everyone knows and respects the SRX name. spankin other 700's and 800's like nothing. :2strokes: love it!!! although the windshield lacks the cool factor, it is functional so i may leave it for now.

ps, seems to be alot of SRX owners on this site, looks like i made the right choice!

While I agree that the tall WS (actually, it looks like the mid-height I have on my sled) isn't as cool looking, it only took me about 10 miles of riding with the short black WS to make the swap. I purchased the mid-height WS knowing full well that I wouldn't be happy with the original shorty and I was right.

In this case, function over form for me. Welcome.

Nice looking sled. I have 2 short windshields and would be glad to have a larger windshield like yours. When it gets real cold I have to drive my SX700R. I think you will get used to it. ;)

thanks for the welcome! just a quik update, i got a set of adjustable transfer rods last week, and man did that make a huge difference. the skid swap is still in the works but these transfer rods will get me through the winter, if my back and kidneys can put up with the not so good suspension for that long lol.

If you're intersted, I'll sell you the black W/S that came with my '01. Never used.

IMHO - cool looking, but useless.
