I put an extended aftermarket oil cable on '98 SRX. All posts i am seeing say I am supposed to measure wire space by in-cable adjust; problem is with this cable I can't, it actually says do not pull cable apart like OEM cables.

How can I adjust in-line setting with cable on sled? (Been workin' on the damn thing more than riding this year!! I just put everything back together after installing new oil cable and one of the gas lines to carbs is spraying gas all over motor; at least I know what I will be doing tomorrow, AGAIN!) :o|

If I have to play it by ear what are some specific signs if she's running lean or rich?

Thank's to everyone who helped with the TORS problem, you guys rule.

if you don't have a adjusting joint in the cable dunno how you would adjust
pump, you won't know where your at,they gave no adjustment on the cable
huh?

should have stayed stock you'd be riding instead of wrenching

There is an inline adjust on the cable, the nuts to shorten or lengthen, I just can't measure the cable at the point by the adjuster. Does anyone know how far the the oil pump lever should be pulled up at idle?

If i do have to measure gas to oil ratio where do I want it?

there would be no way of going by how far the arm is pulled,to hard to
see plus nothing to measure to.

try to shoot for 40:1ish on a SRX.

this is for a 12 gal tank

1 gal = 128 oz. 1 qt = 32 oz.
12 gal = 1536 oz

If you want 50:1, then 1536/50 = 31. You should burn 31 oz of oil per 1536 oz (12 gal) of gas.

31/32 = .9 -- 31 oz = 90% of a quart.

If you burn exactly 1 quart of oil per tank of gas, you're running 48:1 fuel ratio. (1536/32 = 48 ) 48:1, almost 50:1, real close.

use 32 or 33 ozs per 12 gals will get ya closer to 40:1..
