Well what kinda options do you want on it? do you want it to have the detaled map with all the major roads, train tracks, lakes and rivers?
Or do you just want one that will tell you where you are and give you some good plane info?
I own 3 my self and i would highly recomend the rino 120 http://www.garmin.com/products/rino120/ or better yet the 130 ( i plan to buy soon)
The nice thing about the rino GPS is they have a built in FRS 2 way radio.
If you have 2 of the rino's it will show where the other ppl are on the gps while talking to each other.
hope i helped

Gps
I do a lot of trail mapping with my gps's. I have an Etrex and a Map 76s. They both work good. I use the Map 76 if I need the feature of a built in map and one you can upgrade to a better Topo. The etrex is good to throw in your pocket and use if needed. I then upload all my data on my computer and edit etc with various software. If you are using the gps to follow trails etc I find the Map 76 excellent.

I recently picked up a Garmin GPSMAP 60C along with the US topo maps....I love the unit! The maps are very accurate, and the unit is easy to use. I have used the unit quite a bit now (over 12 hours), and the batteries are still going strong. I have heard that some of the units burn through a set of batteries quite quickly.
The units with an external antennae work much better in the thick woods than those like the Etrex.
I bought mine from TIGERGPS.COM and was able to get both the unit and the map cd for just over $400. Most places want $400 just for the unit.

just my two cents...I also have the garmin 76cs and chose this after heavy research. It has plenty enough memory that you'll ever need it for at 115mb. no other gps can match that! Plus, the memory chip is on board resulting in alot less use of the batteries like a gps with an external card. The sd cards draw alot of power up/down loading data to/from the unit. The Garmin uses two AA batteries that last a long time. the problem with the Megallen is that it uses an sd card that drains alot of battery power while transfering data to and from the card. In my opinion Garmin is the Cadillac of the gps market. Don't take my word for it though...just look at the specs!
if you want to know more features go here:

you might want to check this out too: www.ustrailmaps.com
they will updating this software to UP maps in mid Dec.
hope this helps!

Turk, didn't you have a e-Trex Summit before? I have a vista and I'm curious what your thoughts are regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the e-Trex vs the 76
