Hey Guys,
My viper has starting throwing coolant out of the overflow tube. Usually just an ounce or two. Any ideas what may be causing this as this is a recent issue? I have not done any modifications or work (besides cleaning the carbs) that includes draining or adding coolant.

i had a v max 600 that would do that but more than an ounce or two. i found it had a bad head gasket. changed it out and problem went away.

before you get too deep, if you pullled the carbs to clean, perhaps a airlock somewhere?

take off the seat and bleed the air from the screw. dont take it out just loosen it and listen for the air. usually you can get most of the air out in a couple attempts.

Wooly, I think you might be on the right track. Can I bleed the air with the sled sitting flat on the ground or should I raise the back end a bit?

i've always done it just sitting on the flat - it takes some finesse to get it out, you barely crack the screw open and you can hear the air coming out. my viper puked coolant one season almost half of the year and i finally got it bled out and it was fine.

Wooly, one last question. Did you run the sled first to warm it up or can you bleed it cold?

bleed it cold. i think the air rises to the bleeder over night.
