I have a 2004 700 Viper which has been modified with triple pipes, V-force delta reeds, a heat exchanger, and clylider porting? Sled runs like a top and more spped than i can imagine, but the fuel consumption is terrible. Last trip no matter how hard or conservative I drove it, I got 40 miles on 10 gallons of gas. I have been told to many modifications nothing you can do. Anyone got any better advice.
Are your carbs vented to the atmosphere or the airbox?
They are vented to the airbox

with the lines off you can come down to stock jeting (like 145s) bepending on how many mods are done.

you heard right...
Modded piped vipers get crap for mileage..

If I was to go back to a single pipe would it make a difference, do I have to change the reeds as well. I realize I would lose some horse power but would like to go on a trip farther than 40 miles.

I have never had pipes but I am ported only and I seem to get about the same as stock vipers. 12 to 15 MPG depending on conditions. I am up 1 1/2 sizes on main jet & 1 size on pilot. Clutching will also have a major effect. Hope this helps your decision.
