I've decided to turn my Phazer II into a Boondock/Utility machine. I can get a set of complete Vmax XT TSS struts for free and I've got a good hookup on a 144x15" Ripsaw for cheap. The XT I'm getting the struts off of has busted rails so the pro action in its isn't worth fixing. I'm trying to be as cheap as possible and was thinking of using a 136" skid and moving it back 4" . I'm trying to keep it a light as possible and wondering what I should do for a cheap rear skid. I see Stock Proactions on craigslist for under 200$ quite often but rarely a 136" skid. I could do extensions but I'm wondering how much heavier a proaction skid would be than a stock phazer skid. How light are other manufactures 136" skids compared to the pro-action?
Main reason for the suspension upgrade is the front struts are free and I figure a longer travel and taller height will allow me to go through more snow before getting "hung up" since the stock phazer doesn't have the running boards to high of the ground. A better ride is also wanted! I plan on gearing it to top out at 60mph, that's plenty fast for flatland powder riding and pulling the portable ice house.

I'm trying to finish my phazer longtrack project, just can't find the time.
I got a 136 skid off a 97 MM and an 1.25 ripsaw. This is going on a 1990 phazer chasy, I'm not sure the weight on the old phazer longtrack skids, but I know they had extension in them from the factory, so 121 with ext to 136 no hifax ext, I can weight the skid I have if that would help you a little.....

Thats pretty much the suspension I was thinking of using, a 97+ 136" proaction. I found a good deal on a 400$ low mileage 136" Mono RA but I think thats overkill for this phazer project though its claimed to be 12# lighter than regular 136" proaction. I'd love to find a 136" proaction for 200$ or so.

I would look into a poo skid I think they are light with torsion springs?
I think people used to use indy mountain lite skids?
if you check on snowest would be the best place for this do a search!

thats my other option, a local parts yard has a 136" Polaris Xtra 10 for 200$ that would work well, don't know the weights of these skids either though.
