Ok i got a 95 vmax 500 i just got the supension and a new track under it and now i was riding it aorund the fields and was running right and then it is hitting about 5,000 rpms and not shifting let it sit for a few hours and it will work good for a while.
New plugs
ran carb cleaner and fine tuned them a bit. and nothing?
is this in the clutch?

sounds like clutching. have you cleaned them? perhaps the heat from running (expanding) is causing a sticking issue from being dirty, then cooling off(contracting), again working temporarily, until the next go? plenty info on here for clutch maintenance.

ok so i got the clutch off and it needs rollers and weights. ! roller was hard to move and had some play the other 2 were bad and the bearings were toast.
Its out getting rebuilt right now... Hopefully that was my problem
