chaincase problems

whats the difference between a 2004 venture 600/700 chain and a 2003 venture 600/700chain? i know they are both 13 plates wide and the 600s use's the 68 link and the 700 uses the 70 link. but the plates are stacked in a different order..when i put the 04 chain on my 03 sled it made a weird noise when i pressed the breaks. it was a weird whistle and when i pressed it hard the chain jumped over the gears (my chain was finger tight). so i took the cover off again to see whats going on and the chain wasnt riding on the gear like it shuld and it was almost riding on top of the teeth. this sucks

when looking on the fiche, 03's chains have a different part number than 04's...

maybe one is hyvo?...

not real familiar with hyvo chains and gears howerver... tj

The 03 has 13 wide Silent The 04 has the 3/4 HYVO . The HYVO system are 2X the money of the silent and are not compatible. I believe the HYVO is a Borg Warner Chain the Silent is Rexnord
