I was wondering, say you have a stock motor like 50HP, main jetting is 150, now you slightly mod the motor, increase the HP to 58, do you have to jet bigger, to get more fuel, to make the 8 HP increase, or leave the jetting stock. I'm bored, just wondering. thanks

TO GET THAT 8 HORSE, YOU WOULD HAVE TO PORT MOTOR, BIGGER PORTS SHOULD HAVE BIGGER CARBS, WHICH MEANS BIGGER JETS. SO I WOULD SAY YES, EVEN IF JUST INCRESED HP. 3:16 (yammie tony)

How do you think you get that 8 extra HP...??
I just used figures off the top of my head, I should have probaly went with lower HP gains, like 2-3 hp, would you have to got to say a 152, instead of a 150, to get more fuel. I see some mgr's where you put a pipe on, that they say gives you 15 hp, they usually give you jets also, no bigger carbs.

TWO HP IS SO SMALL, I WOULD SAY NO TO THAT. NOW I HAVE ALSO SEEN SMALLER JETS WITH PIPES TO GET HP. RICH MOTOR STAYS FAT AND TOGETHER BUT YOU SEE NO GAINS. THATS WHY YA NEED TO TALK TO WHERE YOU BOUGHT YOUR PIPES BECAUSE THEY TESTED THEM. 3:16 (yammie tony)

There is more going on in the engine than you might realize.. Like Yammigod said 2 hp isnt going to do much,
If you put a pipe on it changes many things in a 2 stroke engine, power curve,
heat temp on the piston/ exhuats temps/ backpressures/ many things change.
You would have to change jets because of the change in air flow thru the engine. The gas actually helps cool the engine/ You could run the same jets/ lean the motor it would run/ but only for a short time. Generally it take more fuel and air, to make more HP. Again alot of variable's but in general terms.
