any body know why in 98-99 they jetted cyl 1&2 the same & 3 bigger, but after 2000 they made #2&3 the same & #1 different.
I put over 10,000 miles on my 98 and I jetted all the same, but leaner than stock. Never had a problem, but I never ran over 1/2 mile wide open. Just check your plugs and you will be OK. Best sled I ever owned .I wish I still had it insted of the Apex.

Someone told me the reason they jetted the 98-99's like that, was the ignition.? Plus the plates in the air box. My 2000 SRX didn't have the plates and was jetted different.
My buddys 98 SRX he changed the jetting to one size bigger on the clutch side and then 2 of the same jets for the middle and ignition cylinder, just like the 00 SRX with no problems whatsover.
Who knows.

i think it was 2000 they jetted lean, some had issues with this others were fine, its best to go one size bigger then stock... dont know the numbers offhand someone else will chime in... They jumped the jetting up in 01, then back down one size in 02, there thoughts were the dcs would kick in before a meltdown occured.
Lol i think thats how the story goes, something along those lines anyways... your best to find out your stock jetting, go one size up and make sure your carbs are spotless.
The coolant flow I believe is different, thats why they've changed where they put the larger jet
